Movie Vs Book- Simon Vs The Homosapien Agenda/ Love Simon
Ok so after months of Love Simon the movie and the book exploding all over my social media, I finally saw the film when I visited Belfast and my brilliant friend who studies over there (and who also inspired me to get back into blogging) lent me her copy of the book to try out.
So which did I prefer: book or movie?
Well honestly, my answer is probably one that most people disagree with.
If you've seen my Instagram you will know that I did not enjoy reading the book at all. There were many reasons for this. Perhaps it was because I saw the movie before the book? But mostly for me, I didn't enjoy the style of writing at all. I found it lacking in a lot of ways. In some places I found the writing too simple, with no real depth to it. In others I felt too much was said when it could have been as simple as showing a simple characteristic rather than explaining in a two page long monologue just what the reader saw.
I'm aware that not everyone will agree with me and that's completely fine! Every reader has their own reading experience.
Besides all that, the book carries a very strong and important message as well as discussing a topic that is becoming more and more relevant in this day and age.
Anyone else with me on preferring the film to the book, or just me?
